I wanted to give you a quick update to those of you who have asked about the Cincinnati Multiple Listing Service being down. As of Tuesday August 8th, the “cloud service provider” for our software system (Rappatoni) has been under a deliberate cyber-attack (and apparently 40 cities across the country). This attack is blocking all 8,000 Realtors here in Cincinnati from accessing our MLS website.
How does this affect how we do business? The attack is stopping us Realtors from logging in and adding new listings, posting open houses, email buyer portals of new listings are not sending out, completing research for valuations and the list goes on and on.
Where do we go from here? Our local board of Realtors leadership is working diligently with our software provider and a new provider to get us back up in running. In the meantime, we are still selling homes via social media, blast emails and picking up the phone! We will keep you posted on the status of our MLS as soon as we are back up and running. In the meantime, see below for a list of our buyer needs!
Market Update – We are still at record low levels of inventory!
In July our MLS had 1,850 single family homes and condos available for sale. Compare this 1,850 to 16,000 and 12,000 in 2008 and 2011. We attribute this to a large number of millennials entering the market, the cost of new construction is really high and we now have many homeowners with very low, comfy interest rates! We expect appreciation to continue to occur for at least 3-5 years!
IF you are considering selling your home and would like to know the current value of your home please just reply and ask!
